Intuit
The Quick Take
Intuit is best known for its finance products such as Quicken and TurboTax. The highly successful company, however, is ever-expanding, and now offers a range of business services and products from web site hosting, to incorporation, to logo design.
Intuit partners with VistaPrint, so it’s likely that if you order your business cards through Intuit, you’ll actually be ordering VistaPrint’s designs. But the two companies offer different types of services: VistaPrint is more product-oriented while Intuit is more software and service oriented, so if you’re in the market for more than just business cards, it’s worth comparing the two web sites to see what the companies offer. (Another difference: Intuit doesn’t brand your free business cards with its logo but VistaPrint does.)

Positioning/Specialty
Intuit is a highly-respected, successful business that keeps expanding. After getting its start with personal finance products (Quicken is the top-selling personal finance software on the market), Intuit is now expanding its “efforts to help small businesses thrive.” While printing is not its specialty (which, we imagine, is why it partnered with VistaPrint), Intuit’s main selling point is its stellar reputation and business expertise.
Design Process
Designing a card with Intuit was easy and fast. However, we accidentally ended up designing a “premium” card instead of one of the free cards that we intended to design. The web site upsells their premium cards in such a subtle way that you might not realize you’ve clicked away from the free cards, which is what happened to us (to be fair, this strategy is common on other sites too.)
At least the price of our order stated was clearly before we paid, at which point we could have gone back and redesigned our cards. By then, we were somewhat attached our new card design and decided to splurge, which is probably just what Inuit hopes will happen. The premium designs are decidedly more stylish than the free designs in our opinion.
As with the other services we reviewed, Intuit also allows you to upload your own designs and logos.
Unfortunately, when we ordered from Intuit, we created a typo, despite the fact that the site lets you proof the card before you order. The cards looked great otherwise and arrived in a timely manner. We spoke to a customer support person to see if they could give us a refund, but of course they could not because typo was our fault (we thought we’d try anyway).
Sample Pricing and Refund policy
Our order for a pack of 250 premium business cards cost $17.50, with $6.99 added for shipping, for a total of $26.81.
For an order of 250 free cards, standard shipping is $5.99.
Additional options include glossy finish, “premium matte” paper, and color or black-and-white backs.
Intuit offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. The Intuit web site says: “Your products come with a 60-day money-back satisfaction guarantee. We guarantee your Checks, Forms, Business Materials and Supplies will be printed as you specify, will work with your printer and current versions of Quicken or QuickBooks software and your checks will be accepted by every financial institution in the U.S., or we’ll reprint your order or refund your money."
